Sidra Aghababian
Climate and Energy Coordinator
Sidra (she/her) is originally from Los Angeles, California but has been residing in Colorado for nearly six years and now calls it her home. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with a concentration in Environmental Policy and Politics, as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Organization and Innovation Management, both from Colorado State University (CSU). In 2021, she pursued her Master’s in Political Science at CSU with a concentration in Environmental Politics and Public Policy and Administration, which she will be completing this May. Her research focuses on energy policy, specifically “just transitions,” and her Master’s thesis is titled “The Adoption and Implementation of Colorado’s Just Transition Policy: Lessons Learned.” This research highlights the environmental and social justice aspects of Colorado’s just transition policy.
Sidra has previously worked for and volunteered with various organizations that aim to address environmental injustices in Colorado and the United States, gaining a deep passion for such work. Her experience includes serving as a Program Coordinator for the Air Quality team and serving on the Energy Board for the City of Fort Collins, as well as working as a Climate Solutions Associate for The Wilderness Society 501c3, concentrating on just transitions and environmental justice. Sidra is thrilled to begin working with NCEL and contribute to this meaningful work. In her leisure time, Sidra enjoys engaging in outdoor activities such as hiking, mountain biking, snowboarding, climbing, and spending quality time with her dog, Arthur.
