Montana State Senator

Senator Ellie Boldman is an eight-term Montana legislator, lifelong Rocky Mountain Westerner, and was named by Time Magazine as one of the nation’s “40 Under 40 Political Rising Stars.” She earned her undergraduate degree at Boise State University and a J.D. from the University of Idaho College of Law, interning with the Nez Perce Tribe and serving as a deputy prosecutor in Boise before leading a nonprofit serving Montana’s most vulnerable populations.

Boldman has been recognized as “Missoula’s Best Activist” for eleven consecutive years and honored by NAMI Montana with their 2013 Hero Award. She has spoken at national and international forums, including the Aspen Institute, United States State Department, American Council of Young Political Leaders (ACYPL) and Netroots Nation, served on the national boards of American Association of University Women (AAUW), American State Legislators for Gun Violence Prevention (ASLGVP) and the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL), representing legislators nationwide and traveling with bipartisan delegations to China, South Africa, Ireland, and the Middle East.

An attorney and mom, she continues to advocate for underdogs while enjoying Montana microbrews. Ellie has been a longtime State Lead for NCEL before joining the Board of Directors.
